Introduction:
Machher Jhol or Machha Jhola is a traditional Spicy fish stew in Bengali and Odia cuisines in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent. It is in the form of a very spicy stew that is served with rice. Machher Jhol is liberally seasoned with turmeric, garlic, onion, and grated ginger. Here is the recipe of very delicious food Machher Jhol :
Ingredients:
- 1 kg Rohu fish
- 3 Chopped onion
- 1tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 2tbsp RM jeera and Haldi powder
- 1cup Tomato puree
- 1tbsp RM Lal Mirchi powder
- 1tsp Cumin seed
- 2 Bay leaves
- 1 Dry red chili
- 1tbsp RM shahi garam masala
- Salt and sugar to taste
- Cooking oil
Method:
- Clean & marinate the fish well with salt and RM turmeric powder.
- Fry the fish well and add ginger garlic paste and saute well-adding salt and RM Haldi powder.
- Add chopped onion and saute well till it is soft and brown.
- Then add RM Jeera Powder, RM dhania powder, RM Laal Mirchi powder, and RM special fish masala and mix them well.
- Add tomato and saute well till the oil separates.
- After that add water and boil along with the fish.
- Add sugar and mix well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and add RM garam masala powder and serve.
